SPANG is the studio of graphic artist Sue Spang.
Sue Spang is a West Seattle-based graphic designer and illustrator whose design style reflects a lifetime obsessed with architecture, 8-bit video games, and medieval art.
Sue has worked as a graphic designer with a number of Seattle-area non-profits, serving in full-time positions with the literacy-based 826 Seattle/The Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas (book/publication and education program design) as well as Rain City Rock Camp (all design, digital and print). Sue also served as the signage and marketing designer at Central Co-op, an upscale grocery store in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. She is currently working full-time as a freelance designer and is open to new clients.
After earning a B.A. in Classical Languages in Literature from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin (and racking up thousands of hours playing bass in the Lawrence University Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and numerous smaller groups) Sue attended the University of Toronto's MA/Ph.D. program in Book History and Print Culture for a year before heading West.
She loves a traditionally-made rye old fashioned, is a pretty good ice hockey goaltender, and has encyclopedic knowledge of Peter Gabriel's entire catalogue, especially the Genesis stuff.
